London…Rabbi Jonathan Sigal, the European representative of the ICPHH spoke to 400 congregants about Har Hazeitim on Shabbat December 10th at the Edgware United Synogogue. He was joined by Princess Katarina of Yugoslavia, a member of the Royal family, whose grandmother Princess Anne of Battenberg is buried on Har Hazeitim, as well as the Mayor of Bernet, Councilor David Longstaff.

Jerusalem…MK Moshe Gafni (UTJ), chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee, has approved a NIS 2 million to upgrade security on Har Hazeitim. The funds will be used by the Ministry of Housing and Construction to bolster its private security force on the cemetery. MK Gafni had earlier approved a NIS 2.5 million for the construction of a fence around HH.

Princess Katarina of Yugoslavia, the granddaughter of Princess Alice of Battenburg, is continuing her tour of London synagogues and raising the issue of Har Hazeitim. She has already visited the famed St. John’s Synagogue. Princess Katarina participated in the House of Commons event in the summer.
